Dan E Short is the drummer for MYMK and is considered by most to be a power drummer with his innovative fills and double kick patterns. He started playing drums at the age of 11 and has been playing ever since. After seeing drum exhibition put on be Louie Bellson in the Shrine Auditorium in 4th grade and also being influenced by the rock and glam of KISS and drummer Peter Criss, he knew that's what he wanted to do. He started taking drum lessons at Droste's Drum Den from Gary Brooks, playing in the Will James JR High School Band and was in his first garage band in 8th grade. He has had the pleasure of playing with some of Billings' most profound musicians and bands throughout the years after his return in 1994 from serving with the U.S.A.F. 8 years during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He's the timekeeper for MYMK, playing Ronnie Tutt's part in Spencer Allen's "Elvis Lives" production, Phil Rudd's part in the "MYMK TNT", an AC/DC tribute band and has shared the stage with legendary rock a billy Hall of Famer Chan Romero, writer of "The Hippy, Hippy Shake". Only the future will tell what's in store. "If you aim for the stars and hit the moon, then life's good! Nobody is any better than anybody else. We all just have different styles. We can learn from and take from each other then make them our own. It takes more to be in a band than just playing your instrument. Attitude, drive, personality, sociability, patience, control and last but not least, the skills! You need to have the whole package to be successful." |
